With numerous parks, playgrounds, and museums, Odense offers a number of activities for children and their families. Some highlights include the Odense Zoo, the Danish Railway Museum, and Ville Vau in the H. C. Andersen Museum – a cultural and creative fairytale land for children inspired by Hans Christian Andersen and his fairytales. If you want to travel back in time, then the Funen open-air museum is for you. The museum will take you back to 1850s Denmark.
Odense also boasts over 250 playgrounds for children of all ages. Thirteen of these playgrounds are located along the river and you can visit them all by following the playground map located here (in Danish).
