The event is a part of Welcome September - a national welcoming month where municipalities and organizations all over the country come to together to give a heartfelt welcome to all international citizens. The event is free of charge for both participants and guests and is open to the public.

What is International Welcome Day?

The purpose of International Welcome Day is to show the international newcomers all the amazing things Odense has to offer – including you and your activities!
More people are moving to Odense from abroad, and newcomers are often trying to find ways to become part of the community, do volunteer work, or otherwise engage in city life. It's not always the easiest of tasks if you are not familiar with the Danish language and have no insight into the city’s leisure and culture activities.

We are inviting you to take part in our fair to showcase your organization and interact with the guests - thereby gaining new members and welcoming newcomers into the fold. We are also offering a time slot in the program if you want to do an activity or a stage performance.

Please note: Due to the layout of Borgernes Hus, unfortunately, it's not possible to do any sports activities at the venue.

What are we offering?

• The opportunity to meet Odense's international citizens and make them aware of your activities
• Marketing of your organization on social media in the weeks leading up to the event that will reach thousands of internationals in the city
• A stand or an area at Borgernes Hus for your materials or activities 
• A great opportunity to network with other organizations, clubs, and individuals from Odense

What do we expect from you?

• 1-2 people who can introduce your organization and your activities in English
• Marketing materials about your activities such as flyers, roll-ups, iPad with access to website, etc.
• Performances, talks, and activities are more than welcome. We have a kids' area, a stage with sound equipment, and several rooms available.
